The Slyfield Site

The Guildford Borough Council website provides the details on the site. The image on the left is from the Slyfield proposals brochure found at 'The Slyfield Area Regeneration Project'.

The proposed development area has a number of suitable sites.

The footprint would be similar, if not smaller, than that of the current football pitch at the Spectrum (seen towards the bottom of image, left).

Key advantages of the Slyfield site:

• An area suitable to prevent traffic congestion, yet still operate at the heart of the town

• Little or no light pollution in residential areas, plus less light spill onto the A3 than the current ground at the Spectrum

• Becomes a key focal point of the new development

• Excellent transport links - near to a junction of the A3 and nearby bus routes

• The Slyfield site is a ‘blank canvas’ - and the ground can be designed around what is feasible
